We had a school bus slip off the road by the high school this afternoon (2/8). The bus remained upright, everyone on board the bus is safe, and no injuries were reported. The parents of students riding the bus have been contacted. We appreciate the support we received from Camanche School District personnel and the Camanche Police Department in handling this situation.

I wish to affirm today (2/8) that the Mask Requirement for the Camanche School District is still in place. Our goal of providing a quality education in as safe as environment as possible continues to be in place. Your cooperation with our safety/health protocols has allowed us to have success in meeting this goal and we believe continuing to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) recommendations is in the best interests of our students, staff, and visitors. Your support of our efforts has been and continues to be appreciated.

Due to current winter weather conditions, school is cancelled for Friday, February 5th.

The Camanche School Board has been discussing our school district’s use of a Native American mascot and imagery. During their January 18th meeting, the school board requested that the Administrative Team look into ways to inform the community about why the use of the term “Indian” is an issue. We have placed a “Mascot Information” button on the school district’s website at www.camanche.k12.ia.us. I would encourage everyone to use this as an informational resource as we move forward with this discussion. Thank you.

Due to the weather forecast, school is cancelled for Thursday, February 4th.

As many of you are already aware, today (January 29th) the state has mandated that a 100% in-person learning option is made available to students/parents within the next two weeks. The Camanche School District has started the process to make this transition back to full in-person learning for our students, parents, and staff as smooth as possible. Please be looking for additional information regarding this which will be coming soon from your child’s school and/or the district. As always, feel free to contact your child’s principal with any questions or concerns.

Due to on-going winter weather conditions, school is cancelled for Tuesday, January 26th.

Due to the weather forecast, school will dismiss at 1:00 p.m. today (January 25th). There will be no PM preschool.

I am pleased to report that the Bond Referendum passed with 71.3% of the voters supporting it! The Camanche School District truly appreciates the community's great tradition of supporting its schools. Thank you.

REMEMBER TO VOTE TODAY! The District's referendum question appears on today's Special Election ballot. Voting will take place at the Camanche Community Center until 8:00 p.m.

We hope that everyone is having a safe and happy Labor Day! Please remember that tomorrow is the Camanche School District's Bond Referendum Vote. In-person voting will take place at the Camanche Community Center.

Reminder facemasks are required at tonight's football game. Please follow social distancing guidelines. We want our students to be in classrooms, on the field, and XC Couse.

If approved, the bond referendum will not exceed $13.4 million and would have an estimated annual tax increase of $135.61 (or $11.30 per month) per $100,000 of residential assessed property value. Tax increase information for other residential, multi-residential, commercial, and agricultural properties can be found on the district's website (www.camanche.k12.ia.us).
