FROM MRS. MUNSON

A common theme and language students will hear throughout the school year is: “All of our feelings are ok, actions are ok or not ok”. Our children should know that it is normal to feel strong emotions at times! The important thing is that we are dealing with these emotions appropriately. It is ok to feel angry, but it is not ok to hurt someone.

Here are a couple books you can read with your student(s) about strong emotions:

·       Sometimes I’m Bombaloo, By Rachel Vail and Yumi Heo

·       When I Feel Angry, By Cornelia Maude Spelman

·       When Sophie Gets Angry, by Molly Bang

·       My Many Colored Days, By Dr. Seuss

Here are some tips for helping kids handle strong emotions: https://aliciaclarkpsyd.com/12-tips-parenting-child-intense-emotions/

Sincerely, Mrs. Munson

FALL FEST

Just a reminder that we are limited on what we can offer students for treats during classroom celebrations. Please refer to our Student Handbook that can be found on the district website under Elementary and Information. If you would like to have treats for your child’s classroom they can be ordered through the school. We also encourage nonfood items such as pencils, stickers, erasers, or other options available at dollar stores. Please call CES at 563-259-3016 if you have any questions.
