KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP

Kindergarten Round Up will be held on Thursday, February 21st from 5:00-6:00PM & Friday, February 22nd from 8:30-9:30AM & 10:00-11:00AM.  If you have a child that will turn 5 years old on or before September 15, 2019, please call our office to add them to our Round Up list.  We can’t wait to meet all of our future kindergartners!

THANK YOU!

Wal-Mart has once again donated $500 so we can purchase books especially designed for beginning readers and struggling readers.  We greatly appreciate their continued support!

CRAYOLA COLORCYCLE

Great job recycling markers Camanche Elementary!  We sent in 346 dried out markers last month.  That is nearly 10 pounds of markers!  So far this year, we have sent 1146 markers to be recycled.  We have saved a lot of space in the landfill by recycling!  That is great news for our environment!  Please deposit your dried out markers in the specially marked box outside of Mrs. Kennedy’s room!

HEALTHY HABITS CALENDAR

We hope your student is having fun completing activities from the January Healthy Habits Calendar!  Just a reminder that any K - 4th grade students that complete at least 23 days of activities listed on the calendar AND return the calendar to school on Friday, February 1st will receive an extra recess with Mr. D.!

MILK MOOLA!

Sadly, we have learned that Kwik Star’s Milk Moola Program is ending March 31, 2019.  Please send in any and all Milk Moola that you have so that the PTA can get them counted and submitted!  Thank you!!

GEARING UP FOR WINTER

We would just like to remind parents and students that our school policy states that ALL children go outside for recess unless they have a note from their family physician stating a need for them to remain indoors, or if the temperature (actual or wind chill) is less than ten degrees.

Students should come to school each day dressed for that day’s weather. Please take a moment to make sure that you child’s name is written on all of their outerwear. Students are required to have snow boots and snow pants in order to go off the blacktop area and play in the snow. If you are unable to provide your child(ren) with the needed outerwear, please contact Carrie Graves, the district Family Resource Coordinator at 259-3016.

With the cold and snowy weather comes possible late starts, early outs, and school cancellations. Please make sure to notify the main office if there is any change to your phone number(s) so that you can ensure that you receive any text messages or phone calls sent out by our district-wide alert system.

CES READING GOAL

As a school we have set a goal of 98, 500 minutes in the month of January.  So far, our school has read 17,769 minutes.  We will have a fun day on a Friday in February if/when we reach our goal.  Thank you for helping support this work!

ATTENDANCE

If your student is going to be absent, will arrive late, or needs to leave early, please make sure to call the main office no later than 9 a.m. on the day of the absence, tardy or early dismissal.

Our attendance is currently 96.59%. We as a school have set a goal of 97%. Thank you for working with us to reach that goal, EVERY DAY matters.
