MUSIC NOTES

All Camanche Elementary Families: Please see that your child wears their gym shoes on the days they have music class. If you have any questions or concerns, I can be contacted through the school, class dojo, or by email at: jmeyer@camanchecsd.org.

Thank you! - Miss Jen, Music Teacher

GYM SHOES

Mr. Peppers would like to remind all our families that gym shoes are required for his students to participate in PE class.  Please see that your child wears their gym shoes on the days they have PE.  You are also welcome to leave a pair of gym shoes at school so that your student is always prepared J

With that in mind, if you happen to have any used shoes that are in good condition, and you are willing to donate to his program, Mr. Peppers would be happy to take them off your hands to share with students that forget to wear their gym shoes to his class.

FROM MRS. MUNSON

Dear Parent and Guardian,

The 2022-2023 school year is off to a wonderful start with our classroom counseling lessons! This week and next week all the students are learning:  “Grown-ups are in charge of Big Deals; Kids are in charge of Little Deals”. Big deals consist of emergencies, dangerous situations or if someone is hurt. When they happen it is important to get help from a trusted adult right away. Little deals are situations/problems that happen every day. Students are taught several problem solving strategies they can use in any little deal situation. We empower students to use their problem solving strategies for little deals that arise throughout the day, as it is a crucial life skill to develop. Ask your child what little deal strategies they use most often.

Here are a couple books you can read with your student(s) on solving problems:

· Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon, By Patty Lovell

· Of Course It’s a Big Deal, By Bryan Smith

· A Big Guy Took My Ball!, By Mo Willems

· What Do You Do With A Problem, by Kobi Yamada

More information about how to teach problem solving at any age: https://biglifejournal.com/blo...

Sincerely, Mrs. Munson
