WINTER MUSIC PROGRAM

Date: Thursday, December 13th, 2018

Location: Camanche High School Gym

Time(s):  Afternoon: 1:30 p.m. – This will be a K-4th grade program (Students will be bussed to and from this program)

  Evening: 6:00 p.m. –- K-2nd Grade

              7:15 p.m. -– 3rd-4th Grade

What your children should wear: We ask that students “dress nice” and girls, please keep in mind you may be sitting on the floor or doing movement, so comfort is important. We are also asking that no hats be worn by either boys or girls. This could be a distraction on the risers and during movement could be a safety issue.

Afternoon matinee: All children will be bussed back to the elementary school at the end of the afternoon program and will go home as they usually do from school.

Evening program: We ask that the children in the K-2nd grade program arrive to their assigned high school room by 5:45 p.m. If your child(ren) are in the 3rd & 4th grade program, we ask they be in their assigned high school room by 7:00 p.m. You will pick your child(ren) up from the same classroom he/she was taken to when his/her program is done.

If you have children in both programs: You must pick up your younger child when his/her program is done and have them watch the 3rd & 4th grade program.  For the older child(ren), they will get to watch the K-2nd grade program with you, as they will not be allowed into their assigned classroom until 7:00 p.m.

HEALTHY HABITS CALENDAR

We hope your student is having fun completing activities from the November Healthy Habits Calendar!  Just a reminder that 1st – 4th grade students that complete at least 23 activities listed on the calendar AND return their calendars to school on December 3rd will receive an extra recess with Mr. D.!

DON’T FORGET TENNIS SHOES!

Winter is here! We are so happy to see so many students wearing warm boots to and from school, but we’d like to remind parents to also send tennis shoes for your student to change in to once they are in the building.  This is particularly necessary for gym class!

VISIT SANTA!

The Camanche Committee of the Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Camanche Public Library on December 1st from 2:00-3:00.  This is a free event for children in kindergarten through 3rd grade and any younger siblings as well.  Santa will be handing out candy canes and there will also be other holiday fun!

S’MORE FOOD DRIVE

The camping trip is over!  The bonfire has been put out!  And Mrs. Clarke’s 3rd grade class came out ahead and got their S’MORE to the blazing bonfire first!  Congratulations to them for sticking together and not crumbling under the pressure!  They won an extra recess, a special S’MORES treat, and the Food Drive Traveling Trophy.  We also have to mention that Mrs. Witt’s 2nd grade class came in second and Ms. Gifford’s 2nd grade class came in third.

Camanche Elementary has a bunch of happy campers and they have helped S’MORE than they know!  Camanche Elementary School has a whole donation of 1,582 canned goods/non-perishable items and $211.25.  Great job CES!  You all should be very proud of yourselves!  CES students had one happy ending to their camping adventure!

CES READING GOAL

As a school we have set a goal of 98,500 minutes in the month of November.  So far, our school has read 79,077 minutes.  We will have a PAJAMA PARTY on Friday, December 7th if/when we reach our goal.  Thank you for helping support this work!

If your student is going to be absent, will arrive late, or needs to leave early, please make sure to call the main office no later than 9 a.m. on the day of the absence, tardy or early dismissal.
