HEALTHY HABITS CALENDAR

We hope your student is having fun completing activities from the November Healthy Habits Calendar!  Just a reminder that 1st – 4th grade students that complete at least 23 activities listed on the calendar AND return their calendars to school on December 3rd will receive an extra recess with Mr. D.!

DON’T FORGET TENNIS SHOES!

Winter is here! We are so happy to see so many students wearing warm boots to and from school, but we’d like to remind parents to also send tennis shoes for your student to change in to once they are in the building.  This is particularly necessary for gym class!

VISIT SANTA!

The Camanche Committee of the Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Camanche Public Library on December 1st from 2:00-3:00.  This is a free event for children in kindergarten through 3rd grade and any younger siblings as well.  Santa will be handing out candy canes and there will also be other holiday fun!

COATS FOR KIDS

Cold weather is here!  If you or your child(ren) are in need of a winter coat, please contact Carrie Graves at 563-259-3050 or cgraves@camanchecsd.org.  We have new to gently used coats (children through men’s/women’s sizes) that we are able to give to anyone in need.  Please remember that all information is kept strictly confidential.  Also, if you would like to donate a new or gently used coat and/or clothing, you can drop it off in the main office during business hours.  Thank you!

S’MORE FOOD DRIVE

The camping trip is over!  The bonfire has been put out!  And Mrs. Clarke’s 3rd grade class came out ahead and got their S’MORE to the blazing bonfire first!  Congratulations to them for sticking together and not crumbling under the pressure!  They won an extra recess, a special S’MORES treat, and the Food Drive Traveling Trophy.  We also have to mention that Mrs. Witt’s 2nd grade class came in second and Ms. Gifford’s 2nd grade class came in third.

Camanche Elementary has a bunch of happy campers and they have helped S’MORE than they know!  Camanche Elementary School has a whole donation of 1,582 canned goods/non-perishable items and $211.25.  Great job CES!  You all should be very proud of yourselves!  CES students had one happy ending to their camping adventure!

CES READING GOAL

As a school we have set a goal of 98,500 minutes in the month of November.  So far, our school has read 59,988 minutes.  We will have a PAJAMA PARTY on Friday, December 7th if/when we reach our goal.  Thank you for helping support this work!
