FINISH STRONG!

The last day of school is Wednesday, June 1st! As we enter into the “home stretch” we ask that all parents encourage children to exercise their best behavior and keep up with their assignments. Classroom behavior and work completion will play a large factor in students’ eligibility to participate in special end-of-the-year events. Thank you!

FEES & UNPAID BALANCES

Please strive to get your students’ bus fees, book fees, and library fees paid up. Some lunch accounts are also past due. Balances of all student accounts will carry over to the following school year. Balances of 4th grade students will carry over to their 5th grade accounts at middle school. All unpaid balances that carry over to the next school year will show as additional amounts owed during online registration.

2022-2023 REGISTRATION

Registration for the 2022-2023 school year will be completed online. Parents, please make sure that your contact information is up-to-date in JMC. Communication regarding registration for next school year will be shared via text and/or email as soon as online registration opens.

FROM NURSE AMANDA

If your child has prescription or over-the-counter medication at school, it will be important to stop in and pick it up before or at the completion of the school year. Leftover medication cannot be sent home with students for the safety of them and others. If the medications are not picked up, they are automatically discarded. If you have questions regarding our medication policy, feel free to contact the school nurse.

FROM MRS. MUNSON

This week talk with your child about: “Perseverance: I keep trying and I will never give up”. This life skill is a major indicator of future success in meeting our short-term and long-term goals. It does not always come naturally, but the good news is that we can develop it. Talk with your child about goals you have set or situations you have been in where you had to persevere. Here are some ways we can help develop children’s perseverance: https://www.brighthorizons.com/family-resources/encouraging-grit-and-teaching-perseverance-to-children

On Monday, May 23rd, please join us in wearing GRAY to show support for our third grade student Elyna Clements, as it is brain tumor awareness month.

NEWS FROM THE PTA

~ Who is ready for some friendly competition to complete the year? PENNY WARS is next week!!! The idea is to see which class can bring in the most pennies. You put the pennies and bills in your class jar. You put the other coins into other classroom jars. Pennies and bills are positive points and the other deducts from the total. Students will drop their money into the buckets at the start of the day. The winning class will be announced at lunchtime on Friday the 27th. The winning class will receive a prize the following week.

~ The PTA would like to thank everyone who participated in fundraisers or coming to events this year. This was a rebuilding year for us and we couldn’t have done it without you! We will be working on putting together fidget boxes for all classrooms during the summer! We are so excited the students got to go on field trips this year! Thank you to the businesses that sponsored field trip nights! We look forward to next year and hope to brainstorm some new ideas over the summer!

Have a great summer CES!
