KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP
Kindergarten Round Up will be held on Wednesday, February 23rd at 2:00 p.m. & Thursday, February 24th at 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. If you have a child that will turn 5 years old on or before September 15, 2022, please call our office to add them to our Round Up list. We can’t wait to meet all of our future kindergarteners!

Hello CES families! On Tuesday, 2/22/22, we thought it would be a great day to have a little extra fun in the building. We are planning on having a tie-dye and tutu’s Tuesday. I hope our students have fun dressing up on this Two-rrific Tuesday!
GOOD LUCK SUMDOG TEAM
Good luck to the members of our school Sumdog math team. These students have volunteered to answer 1000 math problems in one week in the Mississippi Bend Sumdog Math contest. They will be competing against other students throughout eastern Iowa. Third grade members of our school Sumdog team are: Katelynn Burken, Marley Fuller, Cody Gravert, Luke Gravert, Landon Green, Hayleigh Lorenzen, Gabby Sampson, Lakin Springer, and Addi Totten. The Sumdog team members in fourth grade are: Harper Bagg, Zoe Cinadr, Addison Coffey, Emery Davis, Sophia Johnson, Lily Laurion, Sophia Marrow, Carsten Toler, and Kade Varner.

This week discuss with your student what: “I believe in myself” means. “Self-confidence originates from a perception of competence – or, to put it more simply, children develop confidence not because family and friends praise them, but because of their own accomplishments.” (Greene, n.d.) It’s only natural that as parents you want to instill confidence in your kids. Confident children believe in themselves and are able to face new challenges without fear-an essential factor for a happy and fulfilling life. Please see links below to build this confidence.

NEWS FROM THE PTA
~ Our next event will be Books for Bingo on Saturday, February 26th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the CES gym. Admission will get your family dinner and a night of BINGO. EVERY Bingo will win a book!!! More details to follow!
~ If you are interested in joining the PTA, feel free to come to the meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
