DROP-OFF & PICK-UPS

Please remember that 6th Avenue, located on the west side of the playground, is treated as a ONE-WAY every morning and afternoon to accommodate the traffic flow of parents dropping off and picking up students.

NEWSLETTERS & MENUS ARE ONLINE

In an effort to be environmentally friendly, we will no longer print off weekly newsletters, but post them electronically instead.  Please make sure we have the correct email on file for you, as that is how we will send the newsletters each week.  They will also be posted on our Facebook page, and on our district website at: https://www.camanche.k12.ia.us/o/camanchecsd/news?filter=39513

We will also send our breakfast and lunch menus electronically.  They will be emailed, be posted on our school Facebook page, and are available on our district website at: https://camanche.nutrislice.com/menu

MUSIC NOTES

All Camanche Elementary Families: Please see that your child wears their gym shoes on the days they have music class. If you have any questions or concerns, I can be contacted through the school, class dojo, or by email at: jmeyer@camanchecsd.org.

Thank you! - Miss Jen, Music Teacher

GYM SHOES

Mr. Peppers would like to remind all our families that gym shoes are required for his students to participate in PE class.  Please see that your child wears their gym shoes on the days they have PE.  You are also welcome to leave a pair of gym shoes at school so that your student is always prepared J

With that in mind, if you happen to have any used shoes that are in good condition, and you are willing to donate to his program, Mr. Peppers would be happy to take them off your hands to share with students that forget to wear their gym shoes to his class.

FROM MRS. MUNSON

This week and last week I have been in the classrooms teaching the students what a school counselor does at the elementary school. Ask your student what a school counselor does, and see if they can remember a few of the things that I can help them with. We also took a few minutes to explore my online counseling classroom. You can access this from home and explore with them! Here is the link: Mrs. Munson's Virtual Counseling Classroom

It’s a great day to be a part of Camanche Storm,

Mrs. Munson

THANK YOU

The Camanche Lego League – Challenge (formerly known as the Lego League) team and the Camanche Lego League – Explore (formerly known as the Jr. Lego League) team thank John Deere for sponsoring their teams. John Deere paid for their registration and materials, which totals more than $500. We greatly appreciate their support!

FREE MEALS FOR STUDENTS

In an effort to help families, the USDA is continuing to provide temporary funding so that Camanche Schools can offer our students FREE breakfast and lunch for the 2021-2022 school year.

Please continue to fill out Free and Reduced lunch applications if you feel your family may qualify. These applications are used to reduce other fees and in providing P-EBT cards.

MONTHLY READING GOAL

We started our reading goal on 9/1. All students have been provided a reading log or an agenda for their minutes. We are asking that every family spend 15 minutes Monday through Friday reading to their child, listening to their child read, and/or discussing what they are reading. When your child makes their monthly reading goal they will earn a brag tag. There are nine brag tags they can earn this year for making their reading goal. There is a little holder for these tags that will attach directly to their backpacks. We also have a donation of a pizza slice or a salad from Kwik Star for each child that makes their reading goal this month.

The class that reads the most will be given a trophy to display in their classroom for the month. Our first reading reward will be a pajama party day. If we make our reading goal the party will be on 10/11. There is an article attached on the benefits of reading with your child for 15 minutes daily.   – Mrs. Dohse
