NEWSLETTER #21-33

MAY 27, 2021

NO SCHOOL MONDAY MAY 31ST

There will be NO SCHOOL next MONDAY, May 31st in observation of the Memorial Day holiday.

SUMMER MEAL PROGRAM

Students, up to the age of 18, have the ability to go to either Jefferson Elementary or Eagle Heights Elementary schools, in Clinton, to participate in the summer meal program. There is no charge for these lunches. The program runs from June 7th through August 6th (excluding July 4th) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

FROM NURSE AMANDA

If your child has prescription or over-the-counter medication at school, it will be important to stop in and pick it up before or at the completion of the school year. Left over medication cannot be sent home with students for the safety of them and others. If the medications are not picked up by June 18th, they will be discarded. If you have any questions regarding our medication policy, please contact the school nurse. Thank you!

SPELLING BEE

CES is having a Spelling Bee! We wish the best of luck to our school spelling bee participants. Students volunteered to study challenging spelling words outside of the school day. The students will compete to determine the champion for each grade. Then the grade level champions will compete against each other to determine who the all-school spelling champion is. Participants in the spelling bee are River Murphy, Kennedy Schwandt, and Greta Thomson in first grade. In second grade, Ellery Glahn, Madison Goff, Luke Gravert, Cody Gravert, Ella Haack, Lakin Springer, and Tinley Thomsen, are competing. The third grade participants are Leighton Bartels, Addison Coffey, Claire Dunlay, Emma Jones, Lily Laurion, Carsten Toler, Kade Varner, and Charles Whitmoyer. Nolan Butt, Maci Hammond, and Tenley Cewe are the fourth grade participants in our school spelling bee.

JUST 5 DAYS LEFT!

The last day of school is Friday, June 4th! As we enter the “home stretch” we ask that all parents encourage children to exercise their best behavior and keep up with their assignments. Classroom behavior and work completion will play a large factor in students’ eligibility to participate in any end of the year special events. Thank you!

2021-2022 REGISTRATION

Registration for the 2021-2022 school year will be completed online. Parents, please make sure that your contact information is up-to-date in JMC. Communication regarding registration for next school year will be shared via text and/or email as soon as online registration opens. The district will NOT be having a district wide registration at the high school. More information to come!

FEES AND UNPAID BALANCES

Please strive to get your students’ bus fees, book fees, and library fees paid. Some lunch accounts are also past due. Balances of all students’ accounts will carry over to the following school year. Balances of 4th grade students will carry over to their 5th grade accounts at middle school. All unpaid balances that carry over to the next school year will show as additional amounts owed during online registration.

ADDRESS AND PHONE NUMBER CHANGES

If you have had a change of address or phone number, please remember to update your online JMC parent portal account with this new information so your child’s records can be updated. It is imperative that we have your correct information so that you can receive all district communication. If you have any questions or need help with your online account, please call the Camanche Elementary Main Office at 563-259-3016. Thank you!
