NO SCHOOL MONDAY, JANUARY 18TH – MLK JR. DAY
There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 18th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP
Kindergarten Round Up will be held via zoom meeting on Wednesday, February 24th at 2:45 p.m. and on Thursday, February 25th at 5:00 p.m. If you have a child that will turn 5 years old on or before September 15, 2021, please call our office to add them to our Round Up list. We can’t wait to meet all of our future kindergarteners!
CONGRATULATIONS SUMDOG TEAMS!
Congratulations to the members of our school Sumdog teams. They did a great job! The Blue team earned first place. Members of the Blue team are Katelynn Burken, Emery Davis, Michaela Gendreau, Luke Gravert, Maci Hammond, Brayden Phillips, Gabrielle Sampson, Lakin Springer, Carsten Toler, Quinten Toppert, Miranda Tucker, and Kade Varner.
Our Red team came in second place. Members of the Red team are Elyna Clements, Claire Dunlay, Madison Goff, Landon Green, Cody Gravert, Sophia Johnson, Lily Laurion, Hayleigh Lorenzen, Wyatt Ohsann, Cameron Shaffer, Owen Thomson, and Addi Totten. There were 39 teams participating. The teams were from various Eastern Iowa school districts.
Owen Thomson earned first place by accurately answering 992 of 1000 math questions. Wyatt Ohsann earned second place by correctly answering 992 questions also. Claire Dunlay, Maci Hammond, Brayden Phillips, Cameron Shaffer, and Lakin Springer finished in the top ten out of 153 participants. We are so proud of all the students who were in the Sumdog math contest.
CES READING GOAL
As a school, we have set a goal of 89,400 minutes each month. We have read 18,595 minutes so far. If we make our goal we will celebrate in February.
