FALL FEST

Camanche Elementary classes will be celebrating fall with a Fall Fest on Friday, October 30th from 1:40-2:10 p.m. Due to current circumstances, we ask that any family wishing to purchase a snack and drink for their student’s pod, to make their purchase through the Camanche CSD Food Service department. Snacks and drinks can be purchased and will be sent to your student’s classroom on the day of the party for just $.70 per student. For example, a classroom pod that has 10 students could have snacks and drinks purchased by a parent for $7.00. Please see the attached order form. All orders are due by MONDAY, OCTOBER 19th. One snack and drink will be allowed per classroom pod and will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Please watch Class Dojo for confirmation that your student’s classroom has received a snack and drink order. Thank you for keeping our students safe!

THANK YOU

A BIG thank you to the many families that attended Parent/Teacher Conferences last week! If you were unable to make your student’s conference, we urge you to contact your child’s teacher to try and reschedule. Our goal is 100% participation!

Another BIG thank you to the Camanche Elementary PTA for providing a meal for our staff during Parent/Teacher Conferences!

THANK YOU

Nurse Amanda and Miss Kerry in the health office would like to give a big shout out to CES parents, staff, and community volunteers for making this year’s Genesis Flu Clinic a success! Without everyone pulling together as a team and in pitching in the way they did, we could not have accomplished all that we were able to do.  Thank you again!!

QUILT THE TOWN

Keeping You Sewing’s “Quilt the Town” features a variety of quilts and textiles created by local artists of all ages and abilities. The quilts on display include works from students and staff of Keeping You Sewing, antique quilts, members of River Cities Quilting Guild, Material Girlz Quilt Group, as well as from students from other local schools.

Kindergarten through 4th grade students from Camanche Elementary participated in “Quilt the Town” and designed their own quilt squares during one of their art classes! We have 10+ quilts on display around Clinton (mostly 5th Ave South).

The quilts will be on display from: Oct 7 – Nov 22 at River Arts Center, open Wed-Sun 1-4pm. & Oct 1-Oct 31 in area businesses and attractions. Stroll the streets and visit the local businesses and attractions to see beautiful works of textile art. Join us as we “Quilt the Town”.  See attached map.

CES READING COMPACTS

Last year and this year, a group of parents and educators met and discussed our Reading Compact at CES. This Reading Compact came home to your family with report cards. Please sign and send this back to school with your child. We want to develop readers and the love of reading for our students. During this meeting we discussed that reading pictures, partner reading with family members, listening to family members read, and discussing the story all count as reading time. This instills a love of reading.

CES READING GOAL

We are starting our reading challenge again this year. As a school, we have set a goal of 89,400 minutes each month. So far, we have read 12,196 minutes in the month of October. If/when we make our goal in October we will have a pajama party on Monday, November 9th.
