FROM MRS. MUNSON

Family Discussion Topic of the Week: “It’s OK to not know, but it’s not OK to not try.” This week’s message builds on last week’s focus on perseverance. Learning something new can feel intimidating – for children and adults alike! It’s important for children to understand that all feelings are okay, including nervousness or uncertainty. What matters most is not letting those uncomfortable feelings stop them from trying. Encourage your child to try something new this week – whether it’s learning a new skill, raising their hand in class, or attempting a challenging task. Remind them that it’s okay if things don’t go perfectly the first time. Growth happens through effort and practice. Afterword, talk together about:

·       How it felt to try something new

·       What went well

·       What was challenging

·       How they felt afterward

These conversations help children build confidence, resilience, and a healthy mindset about learning.

Here are some books to read this week:

·       Peep! A Little Book About Taking a Leap by Maria van Lieshout

·       My Brave Year of Firsts: Tries, Sighs, and High Fives by Jamie Lee Curtis

·       Try and Stick with It by Cheri J. Meiners

Thank you for supporting your child as they grow intro brave, resilient learners!
