Family Focus of the Week: Perseverance – “I keep trying and I will never give up.” This week, we are learning about perseverance – the ability to keep trying, even when something feels challenging. Perseverance is an important life skill and a strong predictor of future success in reaching both short-term and long-term goals. For many children (and adults!), perseverance doesn’t always come naturally – but the good news is that it can be developed with practice and encouragement.
At home, consider sharing a personal story with your child about a goal you worked toward or a time when you had to keep trying despite setbacks. Talking about real-life examples helps children see that effort, mistakes, and growth are all part of learning.
Here are some books to read this week:
· The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires
· Leo the Lightning Bug by Eric Drachman
· After the Fall: How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again by Dan Santat
Thank you for partnering with us to help build resilience and confidence in our students!
