NO SCHOOL

There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 24th due to a Teacher Professional Learning Day.

FROM PRINCIPAL DOHSE

As we move through the final stretch of the school year, it’s been wonderful to see the growth our students have made. They bring so much energy, curiosity, and joy to our school.

This is a great time to keep that positive momentum going as students finish the year with confidence and pride in their efforts. I would also like to give a special shoutout to our 3rd and 4th grade students for their work during ISASP testing—we are very proud of the effort they showed.

We know this time of year can be busy for families. Keeping routines as consistent as possible, including getting a good night’s rest, can help students feel ready for each day.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. It truly makes a difference, and we are grateful to be working together to help every student succeed.

FROM MRS. MUNSON

Family Discussion Topic for This Week: Tattling vs. Reporting – This week, we’re helping students learn the difference between tattling and reporting. A simple way we explain it at school is tattling is trying to get someone in trouble; reporting is getting someone out of trouble. We use The Big Deals and Little Deals Book by Kim Edmister to help students decide when they need to tell an adult. If someone is getting hurt, something feels unsafe, or a situation makes a child worried or scared, that’s a big deal and should always be reported to an adult. Smaller problems that kids can solve on their own are considered little deals. Encouraging children to think about safety and feelings helps them know when speaking up is the right choice.

Here are some books to read this week:

·       Don’t Squeal Unless It’s a Big Deal by Jeanie Franz Ransom

·       The Good Egg by Jory John

·       Rainbow Fish: Tattle Tale by Marcus Pfister

·       A Bad Case of Tattle Tongue by Julia Cook

These short stories are great tools for starting conversations at home about problem-solving and when to ask for help.
