Focus of the Week: Accepting What We Don’t Like: This week, we encourage families to talk with their children about the idea: “I don’t like it, but I will accept it.” Things don’t always go the way we hope and learning how to handle those moments is an important life skill. Practicing acceptance and flexibility helps children learn to stay calm, use coping strategies, and keep trying – even when situations feel unfair or frustrating. This flexible thinking supports a growth mindset and helps students navigate challenges at school, at home, and beyond. By learning to accept things they may not like, children build resilience and confidence as they grow.
