NO SCHOOL MONDAY, JANUARY 19^TH MLK JR DAY

            There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 19^th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP

            Kindergarten Round Up will be held on Thursday, February 12^th at 4:00 p.m. & 5:15 p.m. If you have a child that will turn 5 years old on or before September 15^th, 2026, please call our office to add them to our Round Up list. We can’t wait to meet all of our future kindergarteners!

PRESCHOOL INFORMATION NIGHT

            Children who live in Iowa and will turn 4 years old on or before September 15^th, 2026 qualify for FREE PRESCHOOL. Please join us for a preschool information night on Tuesday, February 24^th in the CES Media Center.

SINGING VALENTINES

            It is that time of year again! Singing Valentines are now on sale! Send your friends, loved one, favorite teacher, staff member, etc. a song and a cookie for $5. The elementary form is attached to this newsletter and also available in the CES main office. Orders and money are due Tuesday, February 3^rd. Singing Valentines will be delivered by CHS Concert Choir on Thursday, February 12^th!

            Focus for the Week: “I Can; I Try; I Start; I Finish” This week builds on last week’s topic of goal setting. Developing a strong work ethic is an important life skill for children, and a growth mindset helps them approach challenges with confidence. Encourage your child to believe they can do hard things, to try their best, to start their work with a plan, and to finish even when it feels tough. Talk with your child about a time they worked through a challenge – maybe cleaning their room, building a LEGO creation, or helping someone. Celebrate their effort, perseverance, and success!
