FROM MRS. MUNSON
A great discussion topic this week is “it’s okay to not know, but it’s not okay to not try”. This builds off last week’s theme of perseverance. Trying new things can be intimidating and scary for both children and adults. It’s important to teach your child to acknowledge those feelings (all feelings are okay), but not to let those uncomfortable feelings keep them from trying something new. Encourage your child to try something new this week and not to give up if it doesn’t go as planned. Talk about how it felt to try something new, how it went, and how they felt after.
Here are some books to read together:
· Peep! A Little Book About Taking a Leap by Maria Van Lieshout
· My Brave Year of Firsts: Tries, Sighs, and High Fives by Jamie Lee Curtis
· Try and Stick with It by Cheri J. Meiners
