STATE BASKETBALL

Our high school basketball team is going to the 2020 IHSAA State Basketball Tournament next week!  Please make sure to check the note that was emailed to all parents regarding the Camanche CSD schedule for next week.

VISION SCREENING

A free vision screening by the local Lions Club will be offered to CES preschool and kindergarten students on March 26th. The screenings are in conjunction with KidSight in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Iowa Family Children’s Hospital. The vision screening produces images of a child’s eyes to determine the presence of eye disorders. No physical contact is made with a child and no eye drops are used for the screening. We will be sending consent forms home to parents soon. Completed consent forms MUST BE RETURNED BY MARCH 20TH f you would like your child to receive the screening. If you have any questions, please contact: Iowa KidSight, 2431 Coral Court #5, Coralville, Iowa 52241 or 319-353-7616 or kidsight@uiowa.edu.

CRAYOLA COLORCYCLE

Recently, CES sent more than 340 markers to Crayola for recycling. Way to go, CES! The Crayola recycling program is free for our school and an excellent way to keep plastic markers out of the landfill. It takes plastic items many, many years to decompose. Feel free to have your CES student bring dried up, worn out markers from homes, churches, or businesses. Crayola pays the shipping fee. Mrs. Kennedy has her younger students work on their math skills when counting the markers and preparing them to be shipped.

CES READING GOAL

Way to go Camanche Elementary! We surpassed our reading goal of 109,000 minutes in the month of February! We read 111,468 minutes!  We will be celebrating by dressing for our future profession!  Thank you for helping support this work!

ATTENDANCE

If your student is going to be absent, will arrive late, or needs to leave early, please make sure to call the main office no later than 9 a.m. on the day of the absence, tardy, or early dismissal.

Our attendance is currently 95.94%. As a school, we have set a goal of 96.5%. Thank you for working with us to reach that goal, EVERY DAY matters.
