IOWA ASSESSMENTS TEST PREPARATION

SAVE THE DATE! APRIL 16TH – 18TH

            3rd and 4th grade students will be taking the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress, or ISASP, April 16th – 18th. Both grades have already had guidance lessons on preparation, test anxiety, and motivation. Your encouragement of your students is greatly appreciated.

 

ISASP TEST TAKING TIPS:

1.        Get enough sleep

2.     Eat a healthy breakfast

3.      Read the directions carefully

4.      Read the questions carefully

5.      Always check your answers

6.     Stay focused

7.      Take your time

8.      Most importantly – Do your BEST

PTA NEWS

            Ties & Tiaras will be on Sunday, April 7th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the CES gym. Admission is $10 per family and will include a snack and drink. Corsages and boutonnieres will be $2 each. All pre-sales were due Tuesday, April 2nd. Limited quantities will be available at the dance.        

Our fourth graders have picked the theme Marble. Fourth grade parents, please send us your favorite baby picture for the “Guess the 4th Grader Baby” page. These can be sent to the Camanche Elementary PTA Facebook Messenger or email stormpta@yahoo.com. Yearbooks are $22 plus tax for soft cover and $28.32 for hard cover. Don’t forget you can design two FREE custom pages of your student in their book. Custom pages must be completed by April 30th. The yearbook will be submitted May 5th to guarantee delivery by the end of the school year.             This week discuss with your student what “I believe in myself” means. “Self-confidence originates from a perception of competence – or, to put it more simply, children develop confidence not because family and friends praise them, but because of their own accomplishments.” (Greene, n.d.) It’s only natural that as parents you want to instill confidence in your kids. Confident children believe in themselves and are able to face new challenges without fear – an essential factor for a happy and fulfilling life. Please see links below to help build confidence:
