LOST & FOUND
Parents, please stop in the hallway outside of our cafeteria to look through the abundance of lost and found items while you are in our building for parent/teacher conferences. Any items that have not been retrieved by the end of parent/teacher conferences will be donated to Goodwill. Thank you!
NO SCHOOL NEXT WEEK – SPRING BREAK
There will be NO SCHOOL March 11th-15th due to Spring Break.
PTA NEWS
We are excited to bring The Masked Reader to CES when school resumes after the break! March 18th – 21st we will have videos of faculty from Camanche Community School District reading a portion of a book during each day. Hint: not all the readers will be from CES. Each class will vote on who they think the masked reader is and will submit their guesses to the PTA. The readers could be masked or in costume. On Thursday, March 21st from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. there will be an unmasking event in the CES cafeteria. Families can bring blankets and food to have a picnic dinner while we unmask our readers. There will be packaged snacks. There is not charge for this event or snacks. No videos of the unmasking will be posted on social media due to copyright laws.
Our fourth graders have picked the theme Marble. Fourth grade parents, please send us your favorite baby picture for the “Guess the 4th Grader Baby” page. These can be sent to the Camanche Elementary PTA Facebook Messenger or email stormpta@yahoo.com. Yearbooks are $22 plus tax for soft cover and $28.32 for hard cover. Don’t forget you can design two FREE custom pages of your student in their book. Custom pages must be completed by April 30th. The yearbook will be submitted May 5th to guarantee delivery by the end of the school year. Here is the link to purchase the yearbook: https://web.treering.com/create-account/1015351206774106?PassCode=1015351206774106

FROM MRS. MUNSON
This week discuss with your student “change takes time”. There are two types of changes; changes we can control, and changes that we cannot control. BOTH take time! When an unexpected change happens in our lives (ex. death of a loved one, parents splitting up) it can take time to adjust to it. Here are some tips that can help children and adults adjust to unexpected changes: https://www.successconsciousness.com/blog/tips-for-life/tips-for-dealing-with-surprises-and-unexpected-events/
When we think about a change that we are in control of (ex. changing a certain behavior, eating healthier, exercising more) it can take time to work it into our routine and stick with it! We recognize that we might not see successful results right away. The key strategy for getting through any change is a positive mindset!
Here are a few books to read this week:
· The Bad Seed by Jory John
· The Good Egg by Jory John
· Who Moved My Cheese for Kids by Spencer Johnson, MD
· Bubble Gum Brain by Julia Cook
