PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES – NEXT WEEK!
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, March 6th and Thursday, March 7th from 1:30-7:15 p.m. Report cards will be sent home with students the day before conferences.
DUE TO CONFERENCES, WE WILL HAVE AN EARLY DISMISSAL AT 1:08/1:15 ON BOTH DAYS.
THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, MARCH 9TH.
Our 3rd and 4th grade students will be leading their conferences. The students will share their strengths and areas that need growth. They are also setting goals for themselves in each class. This gives our students opportunities to engage in their growth and play an active role in planning for their own learning.
SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
Our Scholastic Book Fair is next week!! We will host the book fair in our Elementary School Media Center during our spring conferences (1:30 – 7:00 p.m.) on Wednesday, March 6th & Thursday, March 7th.
LOST & FOUND
Parents, please stop in the hallway outside of our cafeteria to look through the abundance of lost and found items while you are in our building for parent/teacher conferences. Any items that have not been retrieved by the end of parent/teacher conferences will be donated to Goodwill. Thank you!
SCHOOL SPELLING BEE
Congratulations to Garrett Snodgrass. He is our CES Spelling Bee Champion. He qualified to attend the regional competition at Augustana College. Dylan Council earned 2nd place. Lincoln Petersen earned 3rd place. Each of those boys were the spelling champion for their grade level.
NO SCHOOL – SPRING BREAK
There will be NO SCHOOL March 11th-15th due to Spring Break.
PTA NEWS
It’s that time of year when we start working on the yearbook. The fourth graders will be helping us pick the theme. Fourth grade parents, please send us your favorite baby picture for the “Guess the 4th Grader Baby” page. These can be sent to the Camanche Elementary PTA Facebook Messenger or email stormpta@yahoo.com. Yearbooks are $22 plus tax for soft cover and $28.32 for hard cover. Don’t forget you can design two FREE custom pages of your student in their book. Custom pages must be completed by April 30th. The yearbook will be submitted May 5th to guarantee delivery by the end of the school year. Counseling lessons have been focused on: “I can use my strategies to calm down”. Camanche Elementary students spend a lot of time learning and practicing strategies to help them regulate. As a district we want to instill positive life skills that will aid in students’ future success. At the beginning of our classroom counseling lessons we focus on calm down strategies that can be used at any time and anywhere.
