FROM MRS. MUNSON

An important skill that all CES students have talked about during classroom counseling lessons is: “I can understand another person’s point of view”. It is not always easy or comfortable to stop and think about another person’s perspective, but it is an essential skill for building and maintaining constructive relationships. Teaching children how to take others’ perspectives is a needed aspect of education and specialization. Becoming skillful in understanding the perspective of others can significantly improve their quality of life. For more information visit: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/constructive-controversy/201906/the-importance-taking-the-perspective-others

Here are some books to read with your student on perspective taking:

·       The Great Compromise by Julia Cook

·       Empathy is My Superpower by Bryan Smith

·       The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka
