GUEST LUNCHES

Guests are always welcome to come to school and eat lunch with our students J We have just a couple of rules that must be followed for guest lunches:

  • Please call the school before 9 a.m. on the day that you would like to have lunch with a student. Our lunches are prepared at the middle school and we must order the number of hot lunches necessary each day. You are also welcome to bring a cold lunch from home.
  • Only people listed as a contact in JMC can join a student for lunch. If you would like to change the contacts please do so with the office.
  • All guests must sign in to the office and get a visitor’s pass.
  • The cost of an adult hot lunch is $3.75 and must be paid in the office before you go to the cafeteria.

Please contact the main office if you have any questions regarding these guidelines for guest lunches.

HEALTH REMINDER

We would like to remind parents that checking your child periodically for head lice is an important part of helping to keep your child and others free of these pesky insects. A good rule of thumb throughout the year is a home head check once a week. If you do find that your child has an infestation, please follow the instructions of over-the-counter products carefully. Also, an important part of keeping children lice-free is reminding them not to share combs, hats, hair ties, etc. For more information, please visit https://idph.iowa.gov or contact Nurse Kathy at 563-212-9127.

FLU SHOTS

We will be participating in the Genesis Flu-Free Quad Cities vaccine program for elementary students K-4. Genesis VNA provides this community service to us. The program provides a free flu shot to any student that has parent consent. The clinic will be here at school on Thursday, October 3rd. Please see the attached information sheet and consent form. The consent form must be filled out and sent back for your child to participate in this program.

CES READING GOAL

As a school, we have set a goal of 109,000 minutes in the month of September. So far, our school has read 21,270 minutes. We will each lunch outside on Monday, October 7th if/when we reach our goal. Thank you for helping support this work!

ATTENDANCE

If your student is going to be absent, will arrive late, or needs to leave early, please make sure to call the main office no later than 9 a.m. on the day of the absence, tardy, or early dismissal.

Our attendance is currently 97.64%. As a school, we have set a goal of 96.5%. Thank you for working with us to reach that goal, EVERY DAY matters.
