Good luck to the students in the upcoming Sumdog math contest! The following fourth graders are on our school team: Luke Anderson, Jocelyn Bark, Trevor Bockelmann, Hunter Bray, Maxwell Brown, Miguel Gojon, Halley Hansen, Aly Mahoney, Kyler Jenness, River Murphy, Hattie Noble, Kennedy Schwandt, Josiah Shaffer, Owen Steines, and Greta Thomson. Lincoln Peterson, Keegan Totten, and Brantley Weller are the third grade members of our school team. These students need to complete 1000 math problems in one week in a contest against other students throughout the state of Iowa. The team is coached by Sheryl Kennedy.
PTA NEWS
Thank you to everyone who came out to the first field trip fundraiser of the year! We raised just under $200 for CES students. Our second field trip fundraiser night is Thursday, October 12th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Imperial Lanes. Imperial Lanes will donate on dine-in or carry-out orders. Please order over the phone or on the restaurant side. Bowling will not be available due to Thursday night league.
Our first fundraiser of the year is Club’s Choice Catalog ordering. This features two catalogs that include frozen food, wrapping paper, kitchen gadgets, and more. The fundraiser runs October 5th-20th. Orders must be turned in no later than Tuesday, October 24th. Orders can also be placed online. Orders will be available for pick up on Monday, November 20th.
Monster Mash is Saturday, October 21st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The first hour will include games, the second hour will be a glow dance. Admission is $10 per family prior to the dance or $15 at the door. RSVP’s will be sent out closer to the dance. Admission covers unlimited games, glow sticks/accessories, and dancing. Pizza will be available for $2 per slice and water $1 per bottle. Come out and have a ghoulish good time. ALL costumes must be school appropriate: no scary or inappropriate costumes please!
