NO SCHOOL MONDAY, MAY 29TH

There will be NO SCHOOL on MONDAY, May 29th in observance of Memorial Day.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL – EARLY DISMISSAL

We will have a ONE HOUR EARLY DISMISSAL on the last day of school, Friday, June 2nd. Students riding the bus will dismiss at 2:08 and all other students will dismiss at 2:15.

FINISH STRONG!

The last day of school is Friday, June 2nd! As we enter into the “home stretch” we ask that all parents encourage children to exercise their best behavior and keep up with their assignments. Classroom behavior and work completion will play a large factor in students’ eligibility to participate in special end-of-the-year events. Thank you!

FEES & UNPAID BALANCES

Please strive to get your students’ bus fees, book fees, and library fees paid up. Some lunch accounts are also past due. Balances of all student accounts will carry over to the following school year. Balances of 4th grade students will carry over to their 5th grade accounts at middle school. All unpaid balances that carry over to the next school year will show as additional amounts owed during online registration.

FROM NURSE AMANDA

If your child has prescription or over-the-counter medication at school, it will be important to stop in and pick it up before or at the completion of the school year. Leftover medication cannot be sent home with students for the safety of them and others. If the medications are not picked up, they are automatically discarded. If you have questions regarding our medication policy, feel free to contact the nurse’s office.

LOST & FOUND

Parents, please make time before or after school to stop in the hallway outside of our cafeteria to look through the abundance of lost and found items. Any items that have not been retrieved BEFORE the end of the school year will be donated to Goodwill. Thank you!

2023-2024 REGISTRATION

Registration for the 2023-2024 school year will be completed online. Parents, please make sure that your contact information is up to date in JMC. Communication regarding registration for next school year will be shared via text and/or email as soon as online registration opens.

SUMMER MEAL PROGRAM

Students, up to the age of 18, have the ability to go to either Eagle Heights Elementary or Jefferson Elementary schools, in Clinton, to participate in the summer meal program. There is no charge for these breakfasts or lunches. The program runs from June 12th – June 30th and July 10th – August 4th from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. (breakfast) and 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (lunch) Monday through Friday.

FROM THE MUSIC STUDIO

The 4th Grade informance is tonight at 6:00pm in our gym (Doors will not open until after 5:30)

Please come in the doors by the gym.

This is an “informal” evening where the kids will “inform” you what they have learned this year in music through some of their favorite activities. Please be casual. There will be chairs out, but if you and your family are comfortable bringing a blanket to sit on that would be great too!

If you have any questions or concerns please email me: jmeyer@camanchecsd.org, message me through ClassDojo, or call the school. Thank you!                  ~Miss Jen

Thursday, May 18th

6:00 p.m. – 4th Grade

FROM MRS. MUNSON

This week’s theme is “I Can Focus”. Learning to focus is a skill that needs a lot of practice. Even as adults we can struggle to stay focused on the task at hand, when there are so many things around us that can draw our attention away. Teaching students this skill at a young age can help them learn to block out life’s distractions when they have a task to complete.

Practice these steps below with your students to help them learn how to focus, even when things around them may be a distraction.

1.        Take three deep breaths and/or count to five

2.     Say to ourselves, “I won’t look. I’ll keep on working.”

3.      Continue to work

4.      Say to ourselves, “Good for me. I did it!”
