PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES – NEXT WEEK!

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday, March 8th and Thursday, March 9th from 1:30-7:15 p.m. A notice indicating the time and place of your child’s conference will be sent home soon. Please return this note as soon as possible to confirm your conference time. Report cards will be sent home with students the day before conferences.

DUE TO CONFERENCES, WE WILL BE HAVING AN EARLY DISMISSAL AT 1:08/1:15 ON BOTH DAYS

THERE WILL BE NO SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, MARCH 10TH

Our 3rd and 4th grade students will be leading their conferences. They are preparing for this opportunity over the next few weeks. The students will share their strengths and areas that need growth. They are also setting goals for themselves in each class. This gives our students opportunities to engage in their growth and play an active role in planning for their own learning.

FROM THE LIBRARIAN – CHECK THIS OUT!

Our Scholastic Book Fair is next week!! We will host the book fair in our Elementary School Media Center during our spring conferences (1:30 – 7:00 p.m.) on Wednesday March 8th & Thursday, March 9th. Watch for flyers to be sent home soon with more information.

LOST & FOUND

Parents, please stop in the hallway outside of our cafeteria to look through the abundance of lost and found items while you are in our building for parent/teacher conferences. Any items that have not been retrieved by the end of parent/teacher conferences will be donated to Goodwill. Thank you!

NO SCHOOL – SPRING BREAK

There will be NO SCHOOL March 10th-17th due to Spring Break.

FROM MRS. MUNSON

This week discuss with your student what including others means. When we include others, it opens ourselves up to different ideas, perspectives, and thoughts. Including others in your circle is important because you never know what you may be able to teach each other. Here are some articles on teaching inclusion to children: https://www.boystown.org/parenting/article/Pages/Five-Tips-for-Raising-Children-Who-Celebrate-Diversity.aspx

Read these books together on including others:

·       Ada Twist, the Scientist by Andrea Beaty

·       The Name Jar by Yanksook Choi

·       Lily the Unicorn by Dallas Clayton

·       A Peacock Among Pigeons by Tyler Curry

·       Pink Tiara Cookies for Three by Maria Dismondy

·       When I Care About Others by Cornelia Maude Spelman

NEWS FROM THE PTA

The next field trip fundraiser is Tuesday, March 7th at Applebee’s. Applebee’s donates 50% from a select menu for the day. Field trip requests are coming in! First grade will be going to Circa 21 in April. Thank you to everyone who supports field trip fundraiser nights!

We are beginning to work on the 2022-2023 yearbook. Our 4th graders are helping us pick the theme this year. The theme will be announced shortly! In the meantime, we need your help getting pictures. Please send us the first day of school, Homecoming Week, Red Ribbon Week, 4th grade baby pictures, and any pictures you may receive through Dojo or the teacher. If you think of anything else send those also! Please send them through Camanche Elementary PTA Facebook Messenger or the PTA email listed below. Make sure to include the child’s homeroom teacher, this helps us place the picture on the correct page!
