CAN YOU HELP?
Winter has been hard on our supply of extra clothing available to students that may need it. Camanche Elementary is currently accepting donations of any new or gently used leggings or athletic pants in sizes 3T-16. If you have any you could donate, please send them to school with your student or bring them to CES between 7:30-3:30 on any school day and we will be happy to meet you at the front door. Thank you so much for your help!
BREAKFAST TIME CHANGE STARTING 2/16/21
Non-bus riding students that would like to eat school breakfast are strongly encouraged to come to school at 7:30 a.m. to allow enough time for them to have a healthy school breakfast before the school day starts. Just a reminder – ALL school BREAKFASTS and LUNCHES are currently FREE for ALL students!
NO SCHOOL FEBRUARY 15TH – PRESIDENT’S DAY
There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, February 15th in observance of President’s Day.
WINTER WEATHER
Just a reminder that our school policy states that ALL children go outside for recess unless they have a note from their family physician stating a need for them to remain indoors or if the temperature (actual or wind chill) is less than ten degrees.
Please make sure that students come to school each day dressed for the day’s weather. And please take the time to make sure that your child’s name is written on all of their outerwear to avoid the possibility of lost items. Thank you for your help!
SINGING VALENTINES
Need the perfect gift to give your sweetheart? Why not a singing valentine? Singing valentines are a fundraiser for the Camanche High School Vocal Department. The cost is only $5 and must be purchased by Tuesday, February 9th. Every person receiving a singing valentine will receive a sweet song AND an individually wrapped Sweetheart Bakery decorated cookie. The order form is attached and also available in the office at Camanche Elementary.
VALENTINE PARTIES
Camanche Elementary classes will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with classroom parties on Friday, February 12th from 1:40-2:10 p.m. Classroom pods have already had snacks and drinks purchased for them from the Camanche CSD Food Service department. Thank you for keeping our students safe!
VALENTINE CARDS – DUE TOMORROW!
Camanche Elementary will have our Valentine Party on Friday, February 12th. Students can bring Valentine cards for their classroom pod through Friday, February 5th. We will provide students with a bag to decorate that their cards will be placed into from the teacher. We will follow recommended guidelines for the handling of paper. The teachers will hold onto the cards and distribute them for the students to allow any germs time to die off and prevent the sharing of germs.
We are requesting that cards with edible items not be sent to school. These food items will not be handed out to students. Students can bring cards that have non-edible items such as: pencils, tattoos, and items that students do not eat. Students can also just bring a card. If you have any questions or need any support please feel free to contact your child’s teacher via Dojo.
KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP
Kindergarten Round Up will be held via zoom meeting on Wednesday, February 24th at 2:45 p.m. and on Thursday, February 25th at 5:00 p.m. If you have a child that will turn 5 years old on or before September 15, 2021, please call our office to add them to our Round Up list. We can’t wait to meet all of our future kindergarteners!
