FALL FEST – FRIDAY!

Camanche Elementary classes will be celebrating fall with a Fall Fest on Friday, October 30th from 1:40-2:10 p.m. Classroom pods have already had snacks and drinks purchased for them from the Camanche CSD Food Service department. Thank you for keeping our students safe!

SCHOOL PICTURES & RETAKES

School pictures were sent home with your students last week!  If you are dissatisfied with your child’s picture or if your child was absent on picture day, Lifetouch will return on Monday, November 9th to take new pictures. All pieces of the original picture packet must be returned for a student to have their picture retaken. If your student was absent on picture day, please order online or return their picture order form and total payment due on November 9th. Picture order forms are available in the main office.

CES TURKEY TROT

It’s that time of year again! We are warming up and stretching for our annual food drive for the Camanche Food Pantry! This year it will be the CES TURKEY TROT! Our annual food drive will start on Monday, November 2nd and it will end on Thursday, November 19th. Each classroom will be a Trottin’ Turkey decked out in running shoes and a sweatband.  Each turkey is going to be racing (aka trotting) down the bulletin board to get to the platter on the Thanksgiving table first! The winning class at the end of the food drive receives a special Thanksgiving treat and the Food Drive traveling trophy! The number of non-perishable items and/or amount of money donated ($.50 equals one non-perishable item) will be counted daily and each classroom’s Trottin’ Turkey will be on the bulletin board by the cafeteria. There is always something to be thankful for, and this year we are thankful for our group of students here at CES to come together to help the Camanche Food Pantry.

FACE COVERINGS

We’d like to remind everyone that face coverings are REQUIRED for ALL students and staff during the school day.  Please make sure to send your child with at least one face covering every day.  We have had a lot of forgotten face coverings in the last couple of weeks and are running low on our supply of extras.  If you are able to send two for your student, that’s even better!  If one gets wet or dirty or isn’t fitting properly, it would be great to have an extra in their bookbag or classroom cubby to use as a replacement.  Thank you so much for helping to keep everyone healthy and safe!

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER

Please make sure your child(ren) are dressed appropriately for weather conditions each day. School policy states that ALL children go outside for recess unless the temperature is less than ten degrees. Please take a moment to make sure that your child’s name is written on all of their outerwear.

If you are unable to provide your child(ren) with the required outerwear, please contact our district’s Family Resource Coordinator, Carrie Graves, at 563-259-3016.  She can help and all information is kept strictly confidential.  Thank you!

CES READING GOAL

We are starting our reading challenge again this year. As a school, we have set a goal of 89,400 minutes each month. So far, we have read 58,119 minutes in the month of October. If/when we make our goal in October we will have a pajama party on Monday, November 9th.
