100TH DAY OF SCHOOL

Due to the snow day on Tuesday of this week, the 100th day of school will now be TOMORROW, FRIDAY JANUARY 29th. We have lots of fun activities planned for the day and would like to invite students to dress up like they are 100 years old. Get creative with glasses, hair, and outfits!  It’s lots of fun!

GOOD LUCK LEGO LEAGUE!

Good luck to our fourth grade Lego League team at their virtual Regional event on Saturday! They will be competing against 27 other teams of students in grades 4-8. Members of the Social Distancing Stars are Tenley Cewe, Michaela Gendreau, Maci Hammond, Olivia Munson, Wyatt Ohsann, and Cameron Shaffer.

SPRING PORTRAITS

Lifetouch Photography will be at Camanche Elementary on Friday, February 5th to take spring portraits of students in preschool through second grade. Third and fourth grade students will have their pictures taken at Camanche Middle School on February 18th & 19th. All students will have their pictures taken, with no obligation to purchase. There is no need to fill out any order forms as the same packet is printed for all students and the portrait sheets will be available for purchase. However, parents do have the option of picking a portrait background. Selections forms will be sent home with students soon. If you would like, please select the portrait look and background and return the selection form on or before picture day.

SINGING VALENTINES

Need the perfect gift to give your sweetheart? Why not a singing valentine? Singing valentines are a fundraiser for the Camanche High School Vocal Department. The cost is only $5 and must be purchased by Tuesday, February 9th. Every person receiving a singing valentine will receive a sweet song AND an individually wrapped Sweetheart Bakery decorated cookie. The order form is available in the office at Camanche Elementary.

VALENTINE PARTIES

Camanche Elementary classes will be celebrating Valentine’s Day with classroom parties on Friday, February 12th from 1:40-2:10 p.m. Due to current circumstances, we ask that any family wishing to purchase a snack and drink for their student’s pod, to make their purchase through the Camanche CSD Food Service department. Snacks and drinks can be purchased and will be sent to your student’s classroom on the day of the party for just $.70 per student. For example, a classroom pod that has 10 students could have snacks and drinks purchased by a parent for $7.00. All orders are due by FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5TH. One snack and drink will be allowed per classroom pod and will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. Please watch Class Dojo for confirmation that your student’s classroom has received a snack and drink order. Thank you for keeping our students safe!

VALENTINE CARDS

Camanche Elementary will have our Valentine Party on Friday, February 12th. Students can bring Valentine cards for their classroom pod through Friday, February 5th. We will provide students with a bag to decorate that their cards will be placed into from the teacher. We will follow recommended guidelines for the handling of paper. The teachers will hold onto the cards and distribute them for the students to allow any germs time to die off and prevent the sharing of germs.

We are requesting that cards with edible items not be sent to school. These food items will not be handed out to students. Students can bring cards that have non-edible items such as: pencils, tattoos, and items that students do not eat. Students can also just bring a card. If you have any questions or need any support please feel free to contact your child’s teacher via Dojo.

KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP

Kindergarten Round Up will be held via zoom meeting on Wednesday, February 24th at 2:45 p.m. and on Thursday, February 25th at 5:00 p.m. If you have a child that will turn 5 years old on or before September 15, 2021, please call our office to add them to our Round Up list. We can’t wait to meet all of our future kindergarteners!
