BREAKFAST REMINDER

Just a reminder that non-bus riding students that eat breakfast at school are encouraged to come to school at 7:45 a.m. to allow enough time for them to have a healthy school breakfast before the school day starts.  Also, a reminder that ALL school BREAKFASTS and LUNCHES are currently FREE for ALL students!

CAN YOU HELP?

Camanche Elementary is currently accepting donations of any new or gently used leggings or athletic pants in sizes 3T- 10.  If you have any you’d like to donate, please send them to school with your student or bring them to CES between 7:30-3:30 on any school day and we will be happy to meet you at the front door.  Thank you so much for your help!

CES TURKEY TROT

The cornucopia has been filled!  The race has ended. All the turkeys are all trotted out! And Mrs. Reed’s 4th grade class turkey made a huge push at the end and came out ahead to make it to the platter on the Thanksgiving table first! Congratulations to them! They won a special Thanksgiving treat and the Food Drive Traveling Trophy. We also have to mention that Mrs. Hiher’s 3rd grade class came in second and Miss Cassie’s preschool class came in third. Camanche Elementary is a group of awesome turkeys that trotted as fast as they could to help our local Camanche Food Pantry! Camanche Elementary School as a whole donated HUNDREDS of non-perishable food items and a total of $304.55 in cash! Great job CES! I guess it’s all turkey now!

CES READING GOAL

As a school, we have set a goal of 89,400 minutes each month. We read 69,033 minutes in the month of November. We didn’t make our reading goal in November. Let’s work super hard to make our reading goal for the month of December. If we make our goal we will have a Neon Day on Monday, January 11th. Everyone can dress up in his/her favorite bright colors. I think we could all definitely use some bright colors in January!! Throughout the month of December Mrs. Dohse will read to the class weekly that has the most reading minutes above their goal.

A READING NOTE FROM MRS. DOHSE

Reading is one of the most important things you can do with your child to foster the love of reading and to support your children to become GREAT readers! Some of my most favorite memories with my children, Vaughn and Mackenzie, were reading books to them when they were little. They both have books that remind them of this special time. Build a fort and grab some flashlights, heat up some hot cocoa, draw pictures of the characters in the story, and discuss your favorite parts of the books you are reading. These are memories you will cherish forever!!
