Saying Goodbye

I would just like to take a moment and announce that I will be retiring at the end of the 2019/2020 school year. My heart is a bit heavy but after 42 years in the nursing profession and 15 of it working in the most amazing community, with our wonderful families and students, it is time for me to pursue some new adventures. I have appreciated the many opportunities and the working relationships I enjoyed as well. Since we are in the midst of a pandemic, I will not be able to say farewell in person but know I feel like I have gained an extended family serving this community. Please welcome our new nurse as she embarks on her new position and may you find good health in the future.

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you my decision to move on to my next adventure. It’s hard to believe that over 20 years ago I started working for this school district. I have met wonderful families, students, and staff along the way, and I am so thankful for all of the memories that I will treasure forever. I am not going too far; I plan on substitute teaching periodically. I will miss you all!

Locker Pick up
Thank you all for helping locker pick up days go smoothly. We do have a handful of locker bags still here. If you have not picked up your stuff please call the school and arrange a day and time to pick it up.

Online book reading by Mrs. Reppert
Hello CMS! I am reading Time For Andrew . You will be able to access this a couple of ways. I will be recording myself reading each day and posting it on my Google Classroom page. Talent Show
Even though we won't physically be together on the last day of school to put on the talent show, Mrs. Eissens feels like we still NEED to have our 2020 Camanche Middle School Talent Show. SO, practice a 30-60 second act of singing, dancing, playing an instrument, magic, stupid human tricks, stand-up comedy, anything (school appropriate of course). When you have the perfect act ready, have someone tape it and send it to Mrs. Eissens at meissens@camanchecsd.org. Remember to hold your camera horizontally not vertically when taping your clip and she will put all the acts together and share the show on the CMS Student News channel on Youtube our last school day of school. It will be a good substitute for being together and seeing it live!
****IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR All INCOMING 7TH GRADERS IN THE FALL******
In past years, the Iowa Department of Public Health has required a Tdap and Meningitis vaccine or valid exemption for students entering 7th grade. At this time, the Iowa Department of Public Health is continuing to require state mandated vaccines. Presently, Covid 19 has an impact on how health care providers will be delivering health care services to the public they serve. Due to disruption created by this pandemic, we encourage families to reach out to their own health care providers for direction and know we are coordinating with public health officials for guidance in what seems to be a quickly changing situation.
